Welcome to EARTH 67
Welcome to EARTH 67
Or, as some have called it over the years...Earth Brett ;) If blogs aren't your thing, EARTH 67 will also exist on Facebook [assuming that Facebook doesn't get rebooted away as well].
First, for those whom I met at Supernova in Brisbane this weekend - thankyou for all your support regarding the story Better Angels. I hope you and the others who may stop in enjoy it.
As promised the blog has my contact email - bcrawford1967@yahoo.com . Hopefully that also answers any questions folks might have been having about why this space is called Earth-67 ;)
For the those who want to know where to find the story Wonder Woman: Better Angels and then perhaps hear me waffle on - here is the rapid share link. I will post the link to part 2 at the bottom of this posting once I have uploaded it. There may be some who have read parts of the story before, but it has been much edited since then, and the art provided by John, Tom, and Adam makes for a much richer experience in my opinion.

This site is the progression of an idea that I had several years back concerning one of my favourite super-hero characters, Wonder Woman. Around the time that Amazons Attack was gracing the pages of the DC Universe. There was a lot of feeling generated about the series among fans, most of it negative because of the portrayal of the Amazons of Wonder Woman's comic as bloodthirsty killers.
I was one of those shouting loud and proud about how this was just an awful rendition of the Amazons, but afterwards when the dust had settled and Gail Simone had taken over the reigns of writing Wonder Woman's book, somehow I got the idea for a story.
A lot of folks just wanted the whole series retconned away, but that was not going to happen. Personally I dont like retcons, or reboots, or relaunches, but especially just to alter something inconvenient. It seems...lazy.
So when I saw everyone and his dog saying there was no way to redeem the Amazons without just wiping he slate clean of the whole story, I thought to myself -
"Challenge accepted."
I began writing, and posting what I wrote online. I had folks helping me and giving me feedback, which proved invaluable. The result became Better Angels, a fan fiction piece dedicated to exploring how the Amazons might be redeemed. It changed as I tried to keep pace with the real continuity, mostly for the better I hope.
Now of course Flashpoint has reset the whole DCU, Wonder Woman and the Amazons included. I cant say I'm fond of everything that is happening in the DCU at the moment, and apparently I'm not the only one. I was especially galled when Gail Simone's Wonder Woman run was cut brutally short for what proved the false start relaunch of Odyssey. That 14 issue arc has now given way to yet another continuity tweak. Ah well.
So, since it seems DC is bound and determined to leave quite a lot of Wonder Woman threads hanging, I decided to take on the job of tying them up, if only in the form of ones fans interpretaion of what might have happened. This is not cannon, and makes no pretense at being so. But if you are not feeling satisfied with what you are currently reading, or maybe just wish for more than one Wonder Woman story a month, then maybe this will be something to entertain you.
I talk a lot about Wonder Woman, but that is not all that I will post here. I have the writing bug now, and have plans for other stories with both DC and Marvel characters [Thor and I go way back]. Hopefully these stories will find an audience, and perhaps other like minded individuals would like to contribute their own tales. The more the merrier.
Also, I have begun seeking the help of various artists to help amplify my works - these are comic book characters after all, and comics are big on the visual. If there are any artists out there interested in contributing, please let me know.
So welcome again to Earth Brett, a small backwater corner of the multi-verse that hopefully will yet prove noteworthy to folks who like a good yarn.
